Priyanka Chopra made a graceful appearance at her cousin Parineeti Chopra‘s engagement ceremony in Delhi back in May. However, when it came to the wedding that took place on a sunny Sunday, Priyanka was noticeably absent.
On the day after the wedding, Parineeti Chopra delighted her fans by sharing pictures from her special day. Simultaneously, a video surfaced at the airport featuring Madhu Chopra, Parineeti's aunt, who had attended the wedding in Udaipur with Raghav Chadha. This clip, shared by paparazzi and fan pages, not only highlighted the wedding and the fact that the couple and their families chose not to accept gifts but also shed light on why Priyanka Chopra was unable to attend the wedding.
Why was Priyanka Absent from Parineeti's Wedding?
Initially, there were speculations about Priyanka Chopra's potential absence from Parineeti and Raghav's Udaipur wedding. Now, her mother, Madhu Chopra, has clarified the reason behind Priyanka's non-attendance. When photographers inquired about Priyanka's absence, Madhu simply stated, “Woh kam kar rahi hai” (She is working).
In the meantime, Priyanka, who was in the United States at the time, took to Instagram Stories to share a poolside photo featuring her and Nick Jonas' daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
Madhu Chopra's Presence and Blessings
Even though Priyanka and her immediate family could not be part of the wedding festivities, Madhu Chopra had arrived in Udaipur on Friday and actively participated in all the wedding celebrations.
In the same airport video, when asked about the wedding and the gift she gave Parineeti, Madhu revealed, “Bahut badhiya… Unhone sab mana kar diya, no lena-dena, bas ashirwad” (The wedding was excellent. They declined any gifts; there was no exchange of gifts; I simply gave them my blessings). When further inquired about how Parineeti appeared as a bride, Madhu responded, “Waise hi khubsoorat hai, aur achi lag rahi thi” (She is beautiful as always, and she looked even more beautiful as a bride).
Priyanka and Nick also skipped the wedding due to Nick's ongoing Jonas Brothers concert tour across the United States.
Parineeti and Raghav's Memorable Wedding
Actor Parineeti Chopra and AAP leader Raghav Chadha celebrated their grand Punjabi wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on a picturesque Sunday. A day later, the couple shared their official wedding album on Instagram. Raghav adorned a white sherwani, while Parineeti looked resplendent in a cream and golden wedding lehenga. Priyanka Chopra commented on her post, expressing her heartfelt blessings with a string of emojis and the words, “My blessings always.”
A viral photo from their wedding reception showed Parineeti in a pink saree, adorned with sindoor (red vermillion) on her forehead and pink chudas (bangles worn by Hindu brides). She was seen posing with Raghav, who donned a sleek black tuxedo.
The couple's pre-wedding celebrations kicked off with an Ardas ceremony in Delhi, followed by an intimate Sufi night with close friends and family. In Udaipur, their mehendi and haldi ceremonies were followed by an exuberant sangeet, featuring candid moments of Parineeti and Raghav dancing and mingling with their guests.
