WhatsApp's Upcoming UI Redesign: What You Need to Know

WhatsApp is undergoing a significant makeover in its User Interface (UI) design, and these alterations might catch some users off guard. While tech-savvy youngsters may not bat an eye at these changes, those less accustomed to smartphone apps might require some time to acclimate themselves to WhatsApp's revamped UI. Let's delve into the details.

In a glimpse of the upcoming changes shared by WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is poised to shake up its UI. Notably, navigation bars like Status, Chats, and other tabs will migrate to the bottom of the WhatsApp interface

Additionally, WhatsApp is carving out a new space for the Communities tab. Most conspicuously, the iconic green color that has long defined WhatsApp's header is undergoing a transformation.

Fear not, the green isn't vanishing entirely. Instead, it's adopting a more minimalist approach. WhatsApp's logo and the message button in the lower right corner will sport this new shade of green. At the top of your chats, you'll discover new filter options: All, Unread, Personal, and Business.

These filters are expected to streamline message management, although their precise functions have yet to be revealed. It's plausible that WhatsApp will introduce features to help users categorize chats into Personal or Business sections.

Upon selecting a filter, it will conspicuously turn green, as evidenced in the screenshot. Additionally, WhatsApp seems to be adding a profile icon to the app's upper section while retaining the search bar and camera icons.

The overall app design will boast a clean, all-white appearance, eliminating the distinguishing lines between chats found in the current version.

This revamped design made its debut in the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.23.13.16 update. The updated UI embraces Material Design 3 elements, and it's important to note that this redesign remains a work in progress.

This implies that WhatsApp may introduce more changes in the near future to ensure the app looks modern and aligns with user preferences

. Once the beta testing phase concludes successfully, the new UI design will likely be rolled out to all WhatsApp users. Stay tuned to India Today Tech for the latest updates on this evolving transformation.
