Vivek Ramaswamy Calls Hunter Biden’s Indictment a Distraction Tactic

Vivek Ramaswamy: Hunter Biden's Indictment a Diversion

In a recent statement, Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent Republican presidential candidate, has labeled the indictment of Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, as a calculated “smokescreen.” Ramaswamy contends that this move is intended to divert public attention away from what he perceives as the actual issues concerning the Biden family's financial affairs.

Specifically, Hunter Biden has been charged by Special Counsel David Weiss with federal gun-related offenses, including making false statements during the purchase of a firearm and failing to provide accurate information to a licensed federal firearms dealer. Additionally, he faces a charge of possessing a firearm while being an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance, as reported by Fox News.

Ramaswamy is critical of this development, emphasizing that it should not obscure the primary concern he sees: the alleged use of U.S. foreign policy by the Biden family to benefit their private financial interests.

In his own words, “Today’s indictment of Hunter Biden is a smokescreen. Don’t fall for it. This is a fig leaf designed to deflect attention away from the real problem: the Biden family is selling out US foreign policy for their own family’s private financial gain.”

He goes on to express the need for accountability in both major political parties when it comes to the use of foreign policy for personal enrichment. Ramaswamy views the impeachment inquiry initiated by the Republican-dominated House of Representatives as a positive step in addressing these concerns.

However, he also urges the public not to be misled by what he sees as a strategic move to shift focus. Ramaswamy suggests that the timing of Hunter Biden's indictment coincides with a decline in President Biden's popularity within the Democratic Party. He speculates that this could be part of a broader effort to pressure Joe Biden to step down from the race, with the aim of preserving the deep state's grip on power.

It's worth noting that Hunter Biden has been under investigation for his business dealings, and the special counsel overseeing the case has hinted at potential tax-related charges in Washington or California, where he resides, according to reports from the Associated Press.

These developments occur against the backdrop of congressional Republicans pursuing an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, primarily focused on Hunter Biden's business activities. While Republicans have gathered testimony regarding Hunter Biden's use of the “Biden brand” to secure international work, they have yet to produce concrete evidence of wrongdoing by the president himself.
