US-based terrorist Pannun threatens to target Amit Shah and Jaishankar for Nijjar killing: Security Concerns Rise

Terrorist Pannun Targets Amit Shah & Jaishankar

EAM Jaishankar has charged the Justin Trudeau government of pandering to vote banks by not taking action against Sikh extremists based in Canada, the inaction by the US government on Pannun speaks louder than words. In fact, Indian intelligence has made it known to their US counterparts that it is their understanding that US justice does not take action against Pannun as he may be an agent of the US CIA or FBI. Over the decades, Canada, the UK, the US, and Germany have given shelter to Sikh radicals in the name of human rights violations in Punjab and have allowed them to raise funds within their countries to target India.

Even though extremist Pannun has declared the reward ostensibly for picketing these top leaders and a diplomat when on a foreign visit, the fact is that this is an open threat by the terror leader to target Amit Shah, Jaishankar, and Verma in the coming days. While India’s top diplomat Jaishankar travels abroad most frequently, Home Minister Amit Shah has no interest in traveling outside India till the time Indian NRIs are allowed to vote in the Indian general election.

In a concerning video released recently, designated terrorist G S Pannu from the proscribed Sikh for Justice (SFJ) group in the US declared a substantial reward for information on the foreign visits of Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Indian High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma. The reward is linked to allegations of abetting and conspiring to murder Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Vancouver.

Wanted by India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Pannu's threats have raised alarms. The SFJ called on Sikh radicals in Canada to target Indian diplomatic premises in Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver on August 15, and also announced a so-called Sikh referendum in Vancouver on September 10.

While Indian diplomats have already informed intelligence agencies and local law enforcement about the threats, the inaction of the US government on Pannu's activities is particularly concerning. India and the US have robust cooperation on counter-terrorism, making the situation puzzling.

Despite Pannu's claims that the reward is for picketing the leaders during their foreign visits, it is evident that this poses a genuine threat to Shah, Jaishankar, and Verma. While Jaishankar frequently travels abroad, Home Minister Amit Shah remains cautious about overseas visits until Indian NRIs are allowed to vote in general elections.

EAM Jaishankar has accused the Canadian government of pandering to vote banks by not taking action against Sikh extremists, and the lack of action by the US government on Pannun raises concerns. Indian intelligence has shared their belief that the US might not act against Pannu due to potential ties to the CIA or FBI. Over the years, several countries, including Canada, UK, US, and Germany, have provided shelter to Sikh radicals under the pretext of human rights violations in Punjab, allowing them to raise funds for targeting India.

The situation demands close attention and swift action to ensure the safety and security of the Indian ministers and diplomats and to curb the activities of designated terrorists operating from foreign soil.
