Suga Begins Military Service, Leaving BTS ARMY Emotional

In a significant moment for both Suga and his devoted fans, the talented rapper from BTS embarked on his military service, following in the footsteps of fellow group members Jin and J-Hope. Notably, BTS agency BigHit Music had forewarned that there wouldn't be any formal events to bid Suga farewell. Nevertheless, the thoughtful artist chose to pen a heartfelt note to express his gratitude to his fans before embarking on this new chapter.

Taking to Weverse late on Thursday, Suga composed a touching message. As translated by the dedicated BTS fan @BTStranslation_, he wrote, “Hello, this is Suga. I'm here to convey my greetings! I've reached this point thanks to all of you, the ARMY. And now, the time has come.”

He added with warmth, “I'll return sincerely after completing my service. Please take care of yourselves during the changing autumn weather.”

The BTS ARMY was quick to react to Suga's emotional note. One fan couldn't help but express, “What if I cry, Min Yoongi? What if I cry? I love him so much.” Another fan reflected on Suga's unwavering devotion to his fans, saying, “Yoongi coming on live to say hello; Yoongi writing a letter before leaving Yoongi shows us his 7 tattoos, shares his vulnerabilities, gives us songs of healing, and shows us how much he loves us by touring to as many cities as he can to meet us.

There were also heartfelt messages of support, like, “Promise us to take care of yourself too! Let's stay happy and healthy until we meet again. We love you, always.” Another fan offered their well-wishes, saying, “Go and come back safely, Suga! Stay healthy, too! We'll be waiting, as you said, ‘Future's gonna be okay!' I love you too! Let's all stay healthy and reunite in 2025, Army! Always, thank you and love you.”

It's important to note that no official events were held as Suga commenced his military service, a decision previously communicated by BigHit Music. In their statement, they shared, “There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting Suga at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only.”

Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, is now part of the growing list of BTS members fulfilling their mandatory military service duties. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are also set to follow suit, and fans can anticipate their reunion as a group around 2025.
