RIL Succession: Ambani Kids Join Board as Nita Steps Down
Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest individual in Asia, has initiated a strategic succession plan for his sprawling conglomerate, Reliance Industries. In a significant move, he has appointed his three children – Isha, Akash, and Anant, to the board of the company. While Isha Ambani has been instrumental in overseeing Reliance's retail arm, and Akash has been leading telecom operations, Anant Ambani has been deeply engaged in the renewable energy and oil and chemical segments. While they had previously been part of the boards of the operating subsidiaries, this marks their first participation on the board of the parent company, Reliance Industries.
The new appointees will officially take on their roles upon obtaining shareholder approval. Concurrently, Nita Ambani, Mukesh Ambani's wife, has gracefully stepped down from her position on the board. In a statement, the company acknowledged her decision and highlighted her commitment to guiding and enhancing the impact of the Reliance Foundation.
