President Murmu Unveils ₹100 Coin For Sr NTR's 100th Anniversary
In a momentous celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of the esteemed Telugu actor and politician, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (Sr NTR), President Draupadi Murmu presided over a distinguished event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 28. The event was graced by the presence of Nandamuri Balkrishna and various other members of the illustrious Nandamuri family.
On this remarkable occasion, the central government took the initiative to commemorate Sr NTR's legacy by issuing a special ₹100 coin in his honor. This unique coin, with a diameter of 44 mm, is composed of a blend of metals: 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc. One side of the coin proudly displays the Ashoka Chakra, symbolizing India's timeless values, while the other side features a graceful portrait of Sr NTR himself.
Alongside his portrait lies the inscription “Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Satajayanti” in Hindi, paying homage to his extraordinary contributions. The years 1923-2023 are thoughtfully imprinted on the coin, encapsulating the essence of the centenary birth anniversary celebrations.

The event itself was a splendid affair, graced by the presence of prominent figures from the film industry and members of the Nandamuri family. Among the attendees were Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Daggubati Purandeswari, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, who all came together to honor and remember Sr NTR's remarkable journey.
However, amid the jubilation, a note of disappointment resonated from Sr NTR's spouse, Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi. Regrettably, she expressed her dismay at not receiving an invitation to this prestigious occasion. Despite her diligent efforts to raise this concern with both President Murmu and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, her grievances remained unanswered.
