Actor-Model Poonam Pandey dies of cervical cancer at 32,
Poonam Pandey, an actor and model, recently passed away at the age of 32 due to cervical cancer, as confirmed by her team on her Instagram account. Born in Kanpur on March 11, 1991, Poonam initially gained attention as one of the top contestants in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest. She made her on-screen debut in 2013 with the film “Nasha,” where she played a teacher involved in a controversial relationship with a student.
Poonam became notorious for her provocative content on social media platforms like Instagram and others. In 2011, she made headlines by promising to strip for the Indian cricket team if they won the World Cup, although she did not follow through, citing the denial of permission by the BCCI.
She continued to court controversy by posing nude after the Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL victory in 2012. Poonam's app, which she developed, faced a ban from Google for not meeting their terms but was later made available on her website.
Her acting career extended to Bhojpuri, Telugu, and Hindi films, as well as appearances in special dance numbers. Her last film, “The Journey of Karma,” was released in 2018, after which she focused on releasing erotic videos on her website behind a paywall. Poonam also participated in TV shows like “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 4” and “Lock Upp.”
Poonam Pandey faced personal challenges, including a tumultuous marriage with her long-time boyfriend, Sam Bombay. They got married in September 2020, but the relationship turned sour, leading to a complaint filed by Poonam against Sam, alleging molestation and assault. The couple briefly separated in 2021 after a series of legal issues.
The news of Poonam Pandey's death was shared on her official Instagram account, causing shock and disbelief among her fans. The post mentioned her battle with cervical cancer, and her team confirmed the sad news to various media outlets. Poonam's recent appearance was on the reality show “Lock Upp” in 2022, hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
Fans expressed their grief on social media, though some were initially skeptical, questioning if the news was authentic or perhaps a promotional stunt. Poonam's last Instagram post, just three days before her demise, featured a video of her at a party in Goa.
