PM Modi Wishes Former PM Manmohan Singh on 91st Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who celebrated his 91st birthday on September 26. Dr. Manmohan Singh, a prominent figure in Indian politics, was born in 1932 in a region that is now part of Pakistan. He held the esteemed position of India's Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.

Notably, Dr. Singh's significant contributions to India's economic transformation cannot be overstated. He previously served as the Finance Minister in the administration led by Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao from 1991 to 1996.

During this period, he played a pivotal role in crafting and implementing economic reforms that effectively dismantled longstanding socialist-era policies.

Presently, Dr. Manmohan Singh is a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament. It's worth mentioning that he has been facing health challenges in recent times.

In a heartfelt message on his official social media platform, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his birthday greetings to the former Prime Minister, saying, “Birthday wishes to former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. I pray for his enduring health and a long, fulfilling life ahead.”
