Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Day 2: Lord Ram Lalla's Tour (Jan 17, 2024)
1. Rituals and Atonement Ceremony:
- The seven-day rituals for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir commenced with the atonement ceremony on Tuesday.
- Anil Mishra performed penance at Sangopang, took a bath in the Saryu River, and conducted Panchgavyaprashan.
- Vedicpravar Laxmikant Dixit presided over the Havan, and the recital of Valmiki's Ramayana and Bhusundiramayana began.
2. Special Guests and Invitations:
- Thousands of VIP guests have received invitations for the grand ceremony, including former Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Nirmal Khatri, who accepted the invite, stating that being a devotee of Lord Ram is not a sin.
- Cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli have been invited to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
3. Controversial Statement:
- Karnataka minister KN Rajanna courted controversy by referring to the existing idol of Lord Ram in the makeshift temple as a ‘doll in a tent.' He accused the BJP of deception regarding the idol.
4. Moti Sagar's Gratitude:
- Moti Sagar, son of Ramayan maker Ramanand Sagar, expressed gratitude for the invitation, calling it a great fortune. He commended the meticulous arrangements and attributed the temple's construction to PM Modi's efforts.
5. Ceremonial Preparations:
- The Trust has made elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor attendees, presenting them with gifts, including ‘Ram Raj.' Special ‘Motichoor laddus' made from desi ghee will be distributed as Prasad.
6. Temple Rituals and Events:
- The idol of Lord Ram Lalla is set to tour the premises of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on Wednesday.
- Various rituals, including Jalayatra, Teertha Puja, Brahmin-Batuk-Kumari-Suvasini Puja, Vardhini Puja, Kalshayatra, and the idol tour, are scheduled for the day.
7. VIP Participation:
- Former Ramayan stars Arun Govil, Sunil Lahiri, and Deepika Chikhalia, who played Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Sita, respectively, are attending the event.
8. Clothing Offering by CM Yogi Adityanath:
- Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath participated in the program of offering clothes made for Lord Ram with the help of over 12 lakh devotees of Heritage Handweaving Revival Charitable Trust.
9. Culmination of Rituals:
- The rituals will continue until January 21, leading up to the grand culmination on January 22 with the pran-prathistha ceremony.
10. Special Laddu Preparation:
- A massive 1265 kg Laddu, prepared in Hyderabad, will be offered at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The Laddu is transported to Ayodhya in a refrigerated glass box.
