Forbes evaluated candidates based on four main metrics: money, media, impact, and spheres of influence. These metrics considered factors such as GDP, population, revenues, employee counts, and media mentions. The result is a compilation of women challenging the status quo and making a significant impact in their respective fields.

Notably, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tops the list for her leadership during the Ukraine war and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The list reflects the influence of women acting as stalwarts for democracy, with European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and US Vice President Kamala Harris ranking 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

At the 100th position, the late Iranian activist Jina “Mahsa” Amini is posthumously recognized; her death in September sparking a women-led revolution for rights in Iran.
