Nora Fatehi Sues Jacqueline Fernandez : False Accusations
Bollywood sensation Nora Fatehi has taken a stand against actress Jacqueline Fernandez and several media organizations, filing a defamation case that alleges a tarnishing of her reputation in the public eye. Fatehi arrived at the Patiala House Court and bravely testified before Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta on Monday, revealing the distress caused by false narratives spread about her.
“They have labeled me a gold digger and falsely accused me of being in a relationship with con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar,” Nora asserted, emphasizing that these baseless allegations have caused both financial loss and significant harm to her reputation.
The defamation case stemmed from the ongoing ED investigation against Sukesh, who stands accused of conning an enormous sum of ₹200 crore. Nora, however, has vehemently denied any involvement in the matter and claimed no knowledge of Sukesh's activities.
The actress further revealed that she believes she is being used as a scapegoat in this case, claiming that certain individuals are using her outsider status in the industry to their advantage. She demanded compensation for the severe damage done to her career and personal life.
Fatehi alleged that Jacqueline Fernandez played a part in prolonging her ordeal by making defamatory statements to the media regarding Nora's involvement in the case. The media organizations, in turn, amplified these remarks, causing even more harm to Nora's reputation.
Nora emphasized that Jacqueline's actions seemed to be part of a conspiracy aimed at bringing about her financial, social, and personal downfall. The actress expressed her dismay at being unfairly targeted by a fellow industry member and demanded justice for the undue harassment she endured.
The case revolves around Sukesh, who faces charges of extortion amounting to ₹200 crore from the wife of a former Fortis promoter and other corruption-related allegations. It has also been alleged that Jacqueline Fernandez received ₹7 crore in proceeds of crime from Sukesh.
As the legal proceedings continue, the statement of another witness will be recorded in September. Nora Fatehi's battle for justice and her pursuit of clearing her name remain steadfast, as she seeks to restore her reputation and move past this challenging chapter in her life.
