India Aims for Moon Landing
India's space agency, ISRO, is preparing for the launch of Chandrayaan 3, its second attempt to achieve a soft landing on the Moon. The launch is scheduled to take place toady at 2.30 PM from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. If successful, India will join a select group of countries that have accomplished this feat.
India's Ambitious Mission

Two S2000 solid rocket boosters provide initial thrust, followed by the L110 liquid stage. Finally, the CE25 cryogenic stage powers the rocket as it continues its journey.
The Challenges of Moon Landing

The Moon's distance from Earth and its thin atmosphere make reaching the Moon and decelerating for landing highly demanding. Moreover, the absence of GPS on the Moon further complicates landing at the designated safe landing area.
