PM Modi Inaugurates BAPS First Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly unveiled the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, marking a historic milestone as the first Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates. This momentous occasion was the culmination of his two-day visit to the UAE.
Before the official inauguration, Prime Minister Modi participated in a sacred ritual, symbolically offering water from the virtual Ganga and Yamuna rivers within the temple premises. His words echoed the sentiments of unity and peace shared between India and the UAE.

The consecration ceremony, held earlier in the day, added to the significance of the event. Nestled on a sprawling 27-acre plot in Abu Dhabi, this stunning pink sandstone temple stands as one of the largest in the Middle East. Despite Islam being the official religion of the UAE, the country warmly embraces its diverse community, including approximately 3.6 million Indian workers.
The guest list for the temple's inauguration ceremony included prominent figures from Indian government officials to Bollywood stars, and even members of the esteemed Ambani family. This gathering underscored the importance of this landmark occasion.
Former Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Suri, emphasized the symbolic significance of this day for the Indian community, highlighting their longstanding spiritual and religious aspirations. Singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan expressed his joy over witnessing such a magnificent and spiritual structure in Abu Dhabi, attributing its realization to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
This milestone adds to PM Modi's recent string of significant inaugurations, including the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, underscoring his commitment to preserving India's rich cultural heritage and fostering unity among its diverse communities.
